An Original 1970 Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked International One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Fellini - Satyricon, the bizarre 1969 (released in the U.S. in 1970) Federico Fellini (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) French/Italian historical melodrama ("Rome. Before Christ. After Fellini."; "This picture will be science fiction...a trip back in time...into an unknown dimension.'-Fellini"; "'There is no end, no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life.'-Fellini"; "Story and Screenplay by Federico Fellini and Bernardino Zapponi") starring Martin Potter, Hiram Keller, Max Born, Salvo Randone, Magali Noel, Mario Romagnoli, Alain Cuny, Lucia Bose, Tanya Lopert, Gordon Mitchell, and Capucine. Note that this movie was made shortly after Gian Luigi Polidoro made his movie "Satyricon" (Fellini tried to register the name, but Polidoro had registered it first). So United Artists, which had invested a fortune in Fellini Satyricon bought the rights to Polidoro's movie for over a million dollars in 1969, but did not release it until 1972 (under the name "The Degenerates"), so that it could not be confused with the Fellini movie or hurt its box office! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an "international" style one-sheet (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the lack of a ratings box and NSS information. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and some creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines, with a few dot stains scattered in the image. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
