Seven Faces, the 1929 Berthold Viertel romantic melodrama (based on the short story 'A Friend of Napoleon' by Richard Connell; Muni plays the elderly caretaker of a wax museum in Paris, and the museum goes broke and they auction off the wax figures, and Muni is so in love with the Napoleon figure that he steals it and is discovered and tried for the crime; the most interesting part of the movie is an extended dream sequence, where Muni plays the part of six of the museum's wax figures, Napoleon, Don Juan, Svengali, Franz Schubert; Diablero, Willie Smith [a black African American], and Joe Gans [a boxer]) starring Paul Muni, Marguerite Churchill, Lester Lonergan, Russell Gleason and Gustav von Seyffertitz. Note that Muni was 33 years old when this movie (his second ever) was made, but he had specialized in playing old men in the theater, and this entire movie was a chance for him to show off his amazing acting and make up skills. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three sets of stills we are auctioning (in three separate auctions) from this very early Paul Muni movie (his second ever after "The Valiant", and each of the three sets has four stills showing Muni in full makeup as one of the characters he portrays in this movie!).

Condition: good to very good. Each of the stills has two punch holes in the top center so they may have been key book still stills, or they could have been put there for toms other reason. In addition, each of the stills has discolored somewhat unevenly (see our images).
