A German Special Poster (measures 11 3/4" x 16 1/2" [30 x 42 cm]) (Learn More) Deutschlands Retter (literally translates to "Germany's Savior"), the 1930s (likely 1932) German poster featuring C. Horn artwork of Adolf Hitler shaking hands with Paul von Hindenburg, and Frederick the Great behind them. Note that this poster was likely created after Hindenburg, who was President of Germany, appointed Adolf Hitler as chancellor of Germany in 1932. The inclusion of Frederick the Great (the King of Prussia from 1740 until 1786) was due to the Nazis glorifying him as a precursor to Adolf Hitler. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: C. Horn Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! It was created on a heavy board and has two holes in the top with metal grommets and a string between the holes so that the poster could be hung in workplaces. It has a German emblem with a swastika in the design stamped on the back. Note that this poster is printed on a heavy window card-like stock that cannot be rolled. The poster will be shipped in a flat package that measures approximately 14" x 19". Condition: good to very good. The poster has light smudges and stains scattered throughout.
