Date Sold 11/4/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20" x 28 1/2" [51 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) Fantastic Voyage, the 1966 Richard Fleischer science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy adventure thriller ("A fantastic and spectacular voyage... Through the human body... Into the brain."; "A fantastic and spectacular voyage... through the living body...into the brain."; "Screenplay by Harry Kleiner"; "The nations new #1 pin-up, Raquel Welch, stars in 'Fantastic Voyage' coming soon from 20th Century Fox"; "Adaptation by David Duncan") starring Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch, Edmond O'Brien, Donald Pleasence, Arthur O'Connell, William Redfield, and Arthur Kennedy. Note that Raquel Welch had spent a few years in Hollywood prior to making this movie, usually appearing in small roles in TV shows or movies, or making a brief appearance on variety shows. But once she was cast in this movie, and the studio "sold" the movie using her naked body on a special poster, she became a major sex symbol and a "pin-up queen"! Also note that Isaac Asimov was asked to write the novelization from the script, and, declaring that the script was full of plot holes, received permission to write the book the way he wanted. The novel came out first because he wrote quickly, as well as delays in filming! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was somewhat tri-folded. What does that mean? Some posters were stored in a tri-folded fashion, but where someone took a group of posters and then tri-folded the entire group. This means that many of the posters have only a slight "waviness" one third of the way from the top and the bottom of the poster, but they are not actual folds. They are normally not very noticeable at all from the front of the poster, but they can be seen from the back of the poster, and they mean that the poster does not lay 100% flat. These "waves" greatly diminish if the poster is put under weight for a time, and become almost completely invisible. Most collectors consider them a very minor defect, much less of a defect than actual foldlines. Also note that this poster will be shipped rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. There are a few minor creases around the edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
