A Matted Autographed Original Pencil Drawing (drawing measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; entire display measures 14" x 20") (Learn More) The Tingler, the 1959 William Castle horror science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("When the screen screams you'll scream too... if you value your life!"; "Do you have the guts to sit in this chair?"; "Percepto! Newest and most startling gimmick on the screen!"; "Can you take it while The Tingler breaks loose?"; "Guaranteed 'The Tingler' will break loose in the theatre while you are in the audience. As you enter the theatre you will receive instructions... How to guard yourself against attack by The Tingler!"; "Filmed in Percepto!"; "Written by Robb White") starring Vincent Price, Judith Evelyn, Darryl Hickman, Patricia Cutts, Pamela Lincoln, and Philip Coolidge. Note that this film had a really wonderful "gimmick" in it, where Judith Evelyn is in a bathroom, and although the film is entirely black & white, for this one sequence, they filmed it in color, and Evelyn turns on the sink tap, and blood comes out, and then she turns to the bathtub, which is filled with blood, and a bloody hand comes out of the water! They managed to make everything else appear black & white EXCEPT for the blood in the sink and the blood and hand in the bathtub, and this was done by painting everything else in the bathroom black and white, and even applying makeup to Evelyn, so she appeared to be in black & white! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Glen Eisner Important Added Info: Note that this original pencil drawing (one of nine similar pencil drawings we are currently auctioning in nine separate auctions) has been personally autographed (signed) by by the artist, Glen Eisner! Mr. Eisner has been working in film and television for over 35 years. Both in the horror field and other fields. He is known not only for his art, but for sculptures that he creates for use in making three-dimensional characters in horror films, and he teaches a college class called "Sculpture for 3-D Artists", where students build sculptures with aluminum wire and clay. This original drawing shows characters from this movie, and we don't know exactly under what circumstances it was created, but we think it is likely a private commission that he did for our consignor, who sadly is no longer with us, so he can't tell us the story behind it. It has been nicely matted, and is ready to frame and display on the new owner's wall! Condition: very good to fine. The drawing has been nicely matted (see our images).
