An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Mexican Movie Poster (measures 26 3/4" x 37") (Learn More) El Medico de las Locas (literally translates to "The Mad Doctor"), the 1956 Miguel Morayta Mexican medical doctor hospital musical sexy fantasy comedy (Tin-Tan is a failed doctor who prescribes music to crazy women!) starring Gerard Valdes (billed as "Tin-Tan"), Rosita Arenas, Marcelo Chavez, Sonia Furio, Emperatriz Carbajal, Rosalia Julian, Gloria Mestre, Armando Arriola, and Yerye Beyrute. Artist: Ernesto Garcia Cabral Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie! Also note that this Mexican poster measures 26 3/4" x 37" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had minute paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds. There was minor wear on the folds and a few very minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was likely backed a long time ago, and it is slightly "lifting" from the linen in several areas around the edges (I believe a restorer can re-attach those areas without re-backing the poster).
