Compagnie des Chemins de fer de Paris a Lyon et a la Mediterranee (better known as PLM) is a French private railway company which was founded in 1857 and nationalized in the French National Railroads in 1938. PLM operated chiefly in the south-east of France, with a main line which connected Paris to the Cote d'Azur by way of Dijon, Lyon, and Marseille and they also operated in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had creases, tears, and some smudges around the edges, with a few tiny bits of paper loss. It had some creases scattered in the bottom of the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen many years ago with no excess.
