Stein romantic poor girl/rich man lawyer legal melodrama ("Based on the Cosmopolitan Magazine Story 'Obscurity' by Rupert Hughes"; a wild story of a farm girl who accidentally gets involved with a wealthy politician, and he spurns her, and she sues him for breach of promise, but when she finds out she has ruined his career, she confesses, and he realizes he loves her, and even though she is sentenced to a year in jail, he promises to wait for her!) starring Chester Morris, Mae Clarke, Mary Doran, Theodore Von Eltz, Elizabeth Patterson, and Charles Middleton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has both a wonderful "provenance", and also has an important signature on the back! It comes from the personal collection of actress Mae Clarke, who avidly collected stills from her own movies. In each case, she would take the still and write the names of the actors pictured on the front, and also the name of the movie in pen on the back of each still. Since she was writing her own name, that means that she "signed" every still, and this is one of them! This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain a rare still from one of Mae Clarke's movies, as well as having her signature on the back! Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm].
