Date Sold 12/6/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Journey for Margaret, the 1942 W.S. Van Dyke World War II (WWII) war orphan adoption adventure melodrama ("It's a dramatic BOMBSHELL when a world-famous correspondent meets MARGARET during a blitz!"; "Great book! Great picture!"; "Based upon the book by William L. White") starring Robert Young, Laraine Day, Fay Bainter, Nigel Bruce, William Severn, and Margaret O'Brien (in the title role; billed as "presenting Margaret O'Brien"; she had an uncredited role in "Babes on Broadway", and MGM wanted to be truthful, so they did not bill her as "introducing Margaret O'Brien"!; interestingly, her name was actually Angela Maxine O'Brien, but she made such an impact on the public in this movie as "Margaret", that the studio changed her first name to Margaret, and she kept it throughout her career!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
