An Original Vintage 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm] News Photo (Learn More)

Alan Ladd was a major leading actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Surprisingly, he appeared in a number of movies before he became a major star with his portrayal as a hired killer in "This Gun For Hire" in 1941. Some of his movies include: Shane, The Carpetbaggers, The Glass Key, The Blue Dahlia, and Two Years Before the Mast. He married much older Sue Carol, who had been a major actress in the 1920s and early 1930s, and who had become an agent. They remained married until he passed away in 1964 ANDSue Carol was a popular actress from the 1920s to the 1930s. She was married to actor Nick Stuart but as her career wound down, she became an agent, and signed supporting actor Alan Ladd as a client, married him and helped make him a superstar. She remained married to him for 22 years until his death in 1964. Some of her movies include: Soft Cushions, Slaves of Beauty, and The Lone Ranger
