SIDA Eu Preocupo-Me... E Tu? (literally translates to "AIDS I Worry... And You?"), the 2001 Portuguese poster created to educate people about HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) which causes AIDS (Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome) and how to protect themselves from the disease. Note that this poster features a photo of football player Luis Figo and his family by Joao Cupertino. Note that when AIDS gripped the world in 1981, local authorities, healthcare providers and governments quickly created health posters as a way to inform people about the new disease. These public health campaigns continue to this day, and the posters show the different tactics, images (some quite provocative) and messages used by various countries and health agencies in their attempts to educate people about the AIDS/HIV threat.
