Artist: Shepard Fairey Important Added Info: Note that this poster is widely described as iconic and came to represent Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. It was created in one day by Shepard Fairey, who sold 290 of the posters on the street immediately after printing them. It was then more widely distributed (both as a digital image and other paraphernalia), during the election season. Our consignor tells us that he purchased this poster soon after these posters first appeared, but there is no absolute way that we can determine if it is surely an original poster. There is a later version that is on a cream colored paper (those were signed and numbered with an edition of 600) that was created after the great demand for the originals, but this is surely not that poster. To sum up, we can't say for certain if this poster is one of the original 290, so PLEASE do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this very important uncertainty. Condition: very good to fine.
