An Original Vintage Theatrical Mini Window Card Movie Poster (measures 8" x 12 1/4") (Learn More)

Torchy Runs For Mayor, the 1939 Ray McCarey political detective crime mystery ("Based on characters created by Frederick Nebel"; eighth of the nine "Torchy" movies!) starring Glenda Farrell (in the title role as Torchy Blane), Barton MacLane, Tom Kennedy, John Miljan, Frank Shannon, and Joe Cunningham. Note that the first Torchy Blane movie was made in 1937, called "Smart Blonde", and it starred Glenda Farrell in the lead role. There were a total of nine Torchy Blane movies. Farrell played the lead in seven of them. In two of the ones near the end of the series, Jane Wyman and Lola Lane filled in for Farrell, perhaps because she had other commitments. The series only lasted for two years, but was quite popular.

Important Added Info: Note that roughly 2" of the top blank border was neatly trimmed off, but that otherwise the card is in excellent condition (and it has barely darkened, unusual for a Warner Bros. linen card of this period).
