Not only that, but posters from ANY of the 1950s Cannes Film Festivals are incredibly rare. This is the first poster we have auctioned from ANY 1950s Cannes Film Festivals! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had a semi-circular tear in the top left corner that extended through the "C", which separated that piece from the rest of the poster. It had some scratches by the tear and paper loss in the background below the "C". It had pinholes around the edges and scattered around the central image. It had some small tears in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
