An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Zaza, the 1923 Allan Dwan silent romantic love triangle theater stage acting melodrama (about a beautiful actress who meets a traveling diplomat and she has an affair with him, but he is married and returns to his wife, but many years later, they reunite and his wife has passed away, so they can be together) starring Gloria Swanson (in the title role as Zaza), H.B. Warner, Ferdinand Gottschalk, Lucille La Verne, and Mary Thurman. Note that leading lady Mary Thurman had been a school teacher who became a Mack Sennett Bathing Beauty whose career started to take off, but sadly, she caught pneumonia in 1925, at age 30, and passed away. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there are two white areas in two of the corners that look like they COULD be a defect of some sort, but they are NOT. They exist on stills from silent films that have this sort of black border around the edges. It appears that stills of this sort were made by actually blowing up a frame of film, and perhaps those white areas are some sort of sprocket holes. In any event, they are contained within the printing and are not any sort of defect! Condition: good to very good. There are minor scuffs, smudges, and creases scattered throughout the still (mostly around the edges). The still is otherwise in generally nice condition, especially considering its age.
