An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) The Desperate Hours, the 1955 William Wyler crime hostage thriller ("Adapted from the novel and play by Joseph Hayes"; based on a real-life story of a family taken hostage in their own home by escaped convicts; the person whose life this was based on sued for invasion of privacy, but he was ruled a "public figure" by the Supreme Court, and this was the first such case, and now means that public figures have no ability to restrict invasion into their privacy!) starring Humphrey Bogart, Fredric March, Arthur Kennedy, Martha Scott, Dewey Martin, Gig Young, Mary Murphy, and Richard Eyer. An interesting piece of trivia is that the lawyer who defended the real life family in the Supreme Court case to try to preserve their right to privacy was Richard Nixon, later President of the United States! Important Added Info: Note that the left and right halves of the poster were taped together a long time ago. Whoever owned the poster rolled up each of the two three-sheet sized pieces and stored them that way for a long time. We will send the two pieces rolled together in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has paper loss in the top right of the left section (but fortunately, only the border and blank white paper is affected). There are many creases and some tears on many foldlines and a great number of pinholes around the edges of the poster. The entire poster has darkened somewhat. This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
