He began as a stand up comedian and banjo player, and he always wore a trademark white suit, but his many appearances on "Saturday Night Live" (including as King Tut and the wild and crazy guy) made him a major star, and after a string of comedy albums and performances in huge venues, he turned to movie acting, where he had major success. In recent years, he has done much writing, including some plays. As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 75! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Steve Martin! Also note that many stars kept multiple 8" x 10" copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of the star in their heyday, which, when signed by the star, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! In the case of this particular reproduction still, it was likely created in the 1970s or 1980s, and at the time that our consignor acquired the signature on it. Condition: fine.
