Leeds New York City theater stage acting detective crime mystery thriller starring Lloyd Nolan (as Michael Shayne), Marjorie Weaver, Phil Silvers, Janis Carter, Richard Derr, and William Haade. Note that "Michael Shayne: Private Detective" was the first in a series of twelve detective movies based on the character created by Brett Halliday. Lloyd Nolan played the character in the first seven movies between 1940 and 1942. There was then a 4 year gap and the series resumed in 1946, with Hugh Beaumont (best remembered as the father in TV's "Leave it to Beaver") taking over the role and he starred in five movies in 1946 and 1947. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. There are extremely faint dot stains scattered in the right background area, but they are not very noticeable or distracting. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition.
