Blonde for a Day, the 1946 Sam Newfield romantic crime thriller ("Michael Shayne,...Detective... Was warned not to meet this 'Blonde For a Day'...but what a day!"; "Michael Shayne, Detective... Falls for a... Blonde For a Day ... and... was she a Knockout!"; "Based upon the original characters and story by Brett Halliday") starring Hugh Beaumont ("As Michael Shayne"), Kathryn Adams, Cy Kendall, Marjorie Hoshelle, Richard Fraser, Paul Bryar, Mauritz Hugo, and Charles Wilson. Note that "Michael Shayne: Private Detective" was the first in a series of twelve detective movies based on the character created by Brett Halliday. Lloyd Nolan played the character in the first seven movies between 1940 and 1942. There was then a 4 year gap and the series resumed in 1946, with Hugh Beaumont (best remembered as the father in TV's "Leave it to Beaver") taking over the role and he starred in five movies in 1946 and 1947.
