Artist: Drew Struzan & Charles White Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH artists Drew Struzan AND Charles White! We have auctioned many examples of this poster, but this is the very first time we have auctioned one that was personally signed by either of the two artists that created it, and this one is signed by BOTH artists! Our consignor went to great lengths to get these two autographs on the poster. He went to the last Silicon Valley Comic Con (a 5 hour drive for him!), and he met Drew Struzan in person, and Mr. Struzan signed the poster (he put "1977" after his name to indicate that was when he did the art). It was even harder for our consignor to get Charlie White to autograph the poster. It took him months to get to see him, but Mr. White invited him to his home, and they spent an hour talking, and Mr. White signed the poster to the left of Mr. Struzan's signature, and he put "5-17" next to his signature to indicate that he had signed it in May of 2017. Our consignor took pictures of both artists signing the poster, and we are beyond 100% certain that both autographs are authentic! You can find another example of this poster, but we don't know that you can find another example that was personally signed by the two artists two created it! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
