An Original Vintage Folded Half Subway Movie Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 45" [75 x 114 cm]) (Learn More) Looking for Mr. Goodbar, the classic 1977 Richard Brooks New York City doomed tragic relationship melodrama ("Based on the novel by Judith Rossner", about the tragic real-life story of Roseann Quinn) starring Diane Keaton, Tuesday Weld (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), William Atherton, Richard Kiley, Richard Gere (in a small, but significant role, which helped him to become a superstar), Tom Berenger (in his second movie role!), and LeVar Burton (in his first movie role!) Important Added Info: Note that around this time, studios were creating "subway posters" for many releases, which were 45" x 60" horizontally-shaped posters that were glued up on walls all over New York City (hence the name "subway poster"). They also made these smaller "subway" posters which measure approximately half the size of a regular "subway" poster (usually around 29" x 45"), and look like a one-sheet, only bigger, but they have information about one or more specific New York theaters then-currently showing that movie. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this item (and others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from the estate of Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away earlier this year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca.
