An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Cabaret, the 1950s "men's" magazine that was an imitator of Playboy. Each issue had many illustrated articles, all related to sexy women in one way or another, and many of which had nude or semi-nude photos included. There would be a few articles on well known stars, but unfortunately, those did not have nude images! A knowledgeable collector tells us that this magazine was published by the same people that published Modern Man and Figure Quarterly, often using the same articles and/or images. The emphasis for this magazine was burlesque, nightclubs, etc. There were 29 monthly issues from May 1955 through September 1957. Important Added Info: Note that this is a really wonderful magazine! Not only does it have Marlene Dietrich on the cover (she surely was not on many of these "men's" magazines), but it also has a great naked image of Bettie Page on the inside front cover, plus an article about Las Vegas, an article about stripping, and images of almost all the top strippers of the day, including Evelyn West, Lili St. Cyr, Jennie Lee, and many more. The reason Dietrich is on the cover is because there is an article about America's top ten cafe singers, which includes images of Peggy Lee, Dorothy Dandridge, Rosemary Clooney, Lena Horne, and more! Note that this item contains unclothed women, so we have placed a white bar over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have those white bars! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair. Unfortunately, the magazine was water stained in the top edge, and that caused rippling to all of the pages and some light staining at the top of some of the pages, and two of the pages are stuck together. There are also many creases and scuffs on the covers, with some water stains and the interior pages have a lesser amount. The covers have separated from the rest of the magazine.
