Some of his other roles include: South of the Boudoir, Southern Exposure, and Rough Seas AND Leo McCarey was a director from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best remembered for sentimental comedies and romantic melodramas. Some of his movies include: Duck Soup, Going My Way, Bells of St. Mary's, Awful Truth (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), and Love Affair (which he remade as "An Affair to Remember") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still is a posed scene showing Charley Chase pretending to choke director Leo McCarey, to show him "how it feels" to be attacked in that way in a silent comedy. Since Chase appeared in 50 movies that McCarey directed over a five year span, there is no telling which one this still is associated with. If anyone knows more about what movie this still is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
