A 1963 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded German "A1" Movie Poster (measures 23" x 33" [58 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) Der Blaue Engel (simultaneously released in the U.S. as "The Blue Angel", there were English language and German language versions), the classic 1930 Josef von Sternberg German tragic romantic musical melodrama (about a well respected college professor who falls for a night club singer, and she is thrilled to have such an illustrious suitor, but he throws his career away to marry her, with disastrous consequences; from the novel by Heinrich Mann) starring Emil Jannings (as Professor Immanuel Rath), Marlene Dietrich (as Lola Lola), Kurt Gerron, Rosa Valetti, Hans Albers, and Reinhold Bernt. Note that we do not know if there are any differences in the cast between the German language and the English language version (we know that most of the actors were German, but that they performed the English language version themselves in heavily accented English).
