eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 9b121 ALL AROUND FRYING PAN LC '25 cowboy Fred Thomson saves pretty Clara Horton from bad guy! Date Sold 2/8/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) All Around Frying Pan, the 1925 David Kirkland silent cowboy western ("Story by Frank Richardson Pierce") starring Fred Thomson, Silver King (billed as "And His Remarkable Horse Silver King"; "And his famous horse Silver King"), James A. Marcus, Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), William Courtright, and Clara Horton. Note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). Also note that Fred Thomson's horse, Silver King, was very talented! He could count to 100 by tapping his hoof, and he could also identify colors (but these kinds of horse tricks have often been questioned over the years as being accomplished through help from the horse's owner or trainer). But there is no doubt that Silver King's talents contributed to Fred Thomson's success! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. Someone wrote an inscription about Fred Thomson's death in the top center of the card and wrote Fred's name in the center of the bottom border. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
