An Original Vintage Theatrical Style A Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

The Command Performance, the 1931 Walter Lang royalty mistaken identity romantic melodrama ("A Royal Romance"; "From the play --- by C. Stafford Dickens"; a really wacky story of an actor who is arrested in an unnamed European country, and it is discovered that he looks exactly like the Prince of the country who is supposed to marry the Princess of a neighboring country, but the Prince doesn't want to, so he sends the actor to propose in his place, and of course, the actor and the Princess fall in love, and then there is even more silliness, and at the end, the Prince leaves and the actor takes his place as the new Prince, and is married to the Princess) starring Neil Hamilton (in a dual role as both the Prince and the actor), Una Merkel, Helen Ware, Albert Gran, Lawrence Grant, Thelma Todd, and Mischa Auer. Note that Thelma Todd had a minor role in the movie, playing the leading lady of the actor at the beginning.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that even though Thlema Todd only had a minor role in this movie, and she was not billed on the advertising, her image was used on this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges.
