An Original Vintage Theatrical 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm] Movie Test Photo (Learn More) The Sea Wolf, the classic 1941 Michael Curtiz seafaring sailor action adventure thriller ("Jack London's great novel of terror afloat"; based on the novel by Jack London) starring Edward G. Robinson (in the title role as the sadistic sea captain, "Wolf" Larsen, who follows Milton's philosophy, "better to reign in Hell than to serve in Heaven"), Ida Lupino, John Garfield, Alexander Knox, Gene Lockhart, Barry Fitzgerald (in one of his most memorable roles, as "Cooky"), Stanley Ridges, Francis McDonald, Howard de Silva, and Frank Lackteen NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: These test photos were printed on a thinner than normal paper that is barely glossy, and has no borders. The studios would print these prior to printing the regular 8x10s, and sometimes they would then choose which ones they wanted to use and put an "X" on the ones they did not, and put some sort of notation on the ones they did want to use (sometimes "adv" for advertising). These are sometimes found with a date stamp on the back and sometimes a stamp with the film's title on the back as well. Also note that this still measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: very good. There are three punch holes in the left of the test photo, but they were likely put there by the studio. Learn More about condition grades
