An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #2 (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Royal Tour of Queen Elizabeth and Philip: Flight of the White Heron, the 1954 Sir Gordon Craig English royalty documentary ("A full length feature in CinemaScope"; about Queen Elizabeth's six month trip to Australia, the only time an English monarch visited there) featuring Queen Elizabeth and Philip of England, narrated by Leslie Mitchell. Note that this movie was released in the U.S. in 1954 by 20th Century-Fox. It originally ran 96 minutes, but we think the U.S. version was 52 minutes (and we wonder how many theaters showed it, because we would think it was of limited interest to American audiences). Note that originally, Elizabeth's father, King George VI, was supposed to take this trip to Australia in 1949. But because of his ill health, it was decided that his daughter, Princess Elizabeth, would go in his place in 1951. But sadly, his health had deteriorated further, so the trip was postponed again, and by the time she made the trip in 1954, she was now the queen.
