Date Sold 5/3/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Bullets or Ballots, the 1936 William Keighley political crime thriller starring Edward G. Robinson, Joan Blondell, Barton MacLane, Humphrey Bogart, Frank McHugh, Joseph King, Richard Purcell, George E. Stone, Joseph Crehan, and Henry O'Neill. Note that this movie was made directly after Humphrey Bogart's first major hit, "The Petrified Forest", but Warner Bros. still did not believe in him (or possibly the advertising was prepared prior to the release of The Petrified Forest). He was billed a dismal fourth, and Edward G. Robinson was billed large above the title, and Joan Blondell was billed large below the title, but Bogart was billed in small letters after Barton MacLane! In addition, Bogart only appears on a few of the posters, because the main thrust of the ad campaign was pushing Edward G. Robinson! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that posters from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned some lobby cards, stills, and a pressbook from this movie, and NO posters, until we received this insert! Note that this poster could conceivably be rolled in a tube, but because it has some tape on the back of parts of the folds, and it would lessen its condition by folding it, we intend to send it in a large flat package, and will only send it rolled or folded if the new owner accepts responsibility if it is damaged from being rolled or folded. Please bear this in mind before placing your bid on this rare poster. Condition: good to very good. The poster has pinholes around the edges. It had separation at the right ends of the folds and separation at the left ends of two of the folds, and someone put tape on the back of those five areas. There are stains scattered around the edges, mostly in the blank borders. There is tiny surface paper loss on parts of the folds. In spite of the above, this incredibly rare poster can certainly be displayed and enjoyed, or one might choose to have restoration performed. Either way, the new owner of this poster will have an incredibly rare poster to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
