Slingin' Sammy Baugh (born Samuel Adrian Baugh) was a famous professional football sports player was a Texas college star quarterback at TCU University. In 1937, he signed with the Washington Redskins and became a star there. Interestingly, he played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals the next year, but he remained with the Redskins. In 1941, he was signed by Republic Pictures to star in "King of the Texas Rangers", where he was billed as "The Football Sensation". The movie was a huge success, and Republic wanted him to make more movies, but Sammy much preferred playing pro football to acting in movies, and he retired, except for a minor appearance in this movie, where he played a "Professional Football Player". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one in all our years of auctioning and that was over a decade ago! Condition: good to very good. The poster has tiny pinholes around the edges and tiny separation at the crossfolds, with some small tears in the lower vertical foldline blank border edge. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the ultra rare poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
