An Undated (probably 2010s) Re-Release Theatrical Folded Egyptian Movie Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 43" [72 x 109 cm]) (Learn More) Queen of Outer Space, the 1958 Edward Bernds science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy space adventure thriller ("26 Million Miles Through The Unknown Universe -- To The Indescribable Terrors and Beauties of Planet Venus!"; "Mankind's First Fantastic Flight to Venus -- the Female Planet!"; "From a story by Ben Hecht"; "Screenplay by Charles Beaumont") starring Zsa Zsa Gabor (often mistaken for playing the title role!), Eric Fleming, Dave Willock, Laurie Mitchell (in the title role as Queen Yllana), Lisa Davis, and Paul Birch. Note that Ben Hecht, who is given credit for the story, and Charles Beaumont, credited with the screenplay, were two of the most talented writers ever to work in Hollywood. So how did they end up working on this low budget cheesy grade Z movie? Legend has it that Hecht told the story at a party, and someone who overheard it started making a movie of it, and Hecht heard about it and demanded screen credit! As to Charles Beaumont, it surely was the low point of his otherwise illustrious career! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we think it is extremely likely that this poster was created within the last 10 years (possibly in the last couple of years) for an Egyptian movie theater showing classic movies (perhaps this was created for a single showing, but we really don't know). We have been told that there were Egyptian film festivals in the 1990s that used posters like these, and that might well be true, but we believe this poster (and the other recent Egyptian re-releases we are currently auctioning) are much more recent than that (so maybe there continue to be film festivals to the present day). It was consigned to us from Egypt, but we know nothing more about its history except for what is written above, so please do not bid unless you can accept these uncertainties. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
