An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11 1/4" x 17" [29 x 43 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More)

the 1950s double-bill release of I'll Be Seeing You, the 1945 William Dieterle & George Cukor romantic melodrama ("The strangest holiday two people have ever shared!"; "Both living a secret... Each afraid to tell!"; "A love story... of today... tomorrow... always! A girl with a secret to fear... a soldier with too much to remember, together on the strangers holiday two people ever shared."; "based on a story by Charles Martin"; "Produced by Dore Schary"; about a woman who's on a Christmas leave from prison, and she meets an Army Sergeant who was just released from a mental hospital, and she invites him home for dinner) starring Ginger Rogers ("Challenging her unforgettable 'Kitty Foyle'"), Joseph Cotten ("From his triumph in 'Since You Went Away'"), Shirley Temple ("in her first really grown-up glamour role"), Spring Byington, Tom Tully, and John Derek (in his first credited role, and he was billed as "Dare Harris") AND Since You Went Away, the 1944 John Cromwell World War II (WWII) Home Front romantic family melodrama ("David O. Selznick presents one of the greatest love stories of our time... Portrayed by the screen's most distinguished cast!"; "David O. Selznick presents his first production since 'Gone With The Wind' and 'Rebecca'"; "David O. Selznick in his first production since 'Gone With The Wind' and 'Rebecca' presents today's greatest love story... Big as America's heart... Poignant with separation, bright with hope, sparkling with laughter!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Claudette Colbert (in her nominated for Best Actress Academy Award role), Jennifer Jones (in her nominated for Best Supporting Actress Academy Award role), Joseph Cotten, Shirley Temple, Lionel Barrymore, Monty Woolley (in his nominated for Best Supporting Actor Academy Award role), Robert Walker, Dorothy Dandridge, Hattie McDaniel, and Alla Nazimova (in her last film appearance). Note that it is ironic that two of the leads in this movie, Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones, were married in real life, and it was producer David O. Selznick who was madly in love with Ms. Jones, and his pursuit of her caused the couple to divorce during the filming of this movie, and she later married Mr. Selznick!

Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!

Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was folded across the middle and there is some wear around the edges and along the fold.
