An Undated (probably 1950s) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 44 3/4" x 61 3/4") (Learn More) Un Condamne a Mort s'est Echappe ou Le Vent Souffle ou il Veut (released in the U.S. in 1957 as "A Man Escaped"), the classic 1956 Robert Bresson French Nazi French Resistance World War II (WWII) prison escape melodrama ("Bresson's prize winning film"; based on the memoir by Andre Devigny; about a man in the French Resistance who is captured by the Nazis, and he plans to escape from prison, but on the day of his planned escape, he is both sentenced to death and given a cellmate who may or may not be a Nazi informer) starring Francois Leterrier, Charles LeClainche, Jean Paul Delhumeau, Maurice Beerblock, Roland Monod, and Jacques Ertaud Artist: Hurel Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Condition: good to very good. It appears that there was a large title change snipe over the entire title area, and that it was removed, causing much surface paper loss in that area, because the entire title area and the background behind it has been largely re-painted. There were areas of paper loss at many of the crossfolds and creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines, and pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and the restoration in the title area does not stand out at all, and I think this great poster displays quite nicely! Learn More about condition grades
