Thrill to them together in a suspense-romance directed by the man who did 'Rebecca'"; "Screen play by Samson Raphaelson, Joan Harrison, Alma Reville [Hitchcock's wife]"; "Based on the novel 'Before the Fact' by Francis Iles"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Cary Grant, Joan Fontaine (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Nigel Bruce, Dame May Whitty, Lumsden Hare, Vernon Downing, and Auriol Lee. Note that there is controversy about the ending of this movie! Many people say that Hitchcock intended the movie to end with Grant killing Fontaine, and that the studio insisted that he change it (to preserve Grant's positive public image), but others say that this is an urban legend, and that the movie was always intended to end the way it did! Important Added Info: Note that this poster has full-bleed borders on the left and right and has NOT been trimmed. This was done by RKO with their daybills in the 1940s and early 1950s. Advanced Australian collectors tell us that this is how all the daybills of this title were created. Please do not bid on this daybill thinking that it has been trimmed as it certainly was not. Condition: very good. The poster has several extra light horizontal folds, with very minor wear on the foldlines. It has a pinhole in each of the top corners. It had a small rectangle of tape on the back of the top left corner, and it slightly darkened part of the "Ca" of "Cary". Otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition.
