An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Coming Thing, the 1970 Paul Gerber (credited as "David Reberg") sexploitation movie ("The Coming Thing is a challenge to adult filmgoers"; "Nothing you have ever seen before can quite prepare you for this new experience"; "You're not ready for tomorrow unless you see the coming thing today"; "A film by David Reberg of San Francisco") starring George S. McDonald. Actually, the film did NOT "star" George S. McDonald, but he is the only actor from this anyone seems to have been able to track down! Apparently no one connected to it wanted their name on it (perhaps because of the massive use of classic unlicensed rock music; see below), and the director Paul Gerber used an alias which was an anagram of his real last name! Note that the soundtrack to this movie features original recordings of: "I Feel Free" by Cream, "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones (played twice), "Ain't Superstitious" by Led Zeppelin, "The Hunter" by Albert King , and these songs by The Doors: "Hello I Love You", "Back Door Man", "Love Me Two Times", "Five to One" and "End of the Night". Obviously the producers did NOT pay for the rights to these, and we are surprised more sexploitation movies did not do the same thing! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned this one-sheet!

Note that this is one of 53 sexploitation one-sheets which we were recently consigned (we auctioned the first of these over the last two months, and now we continue with another group of them)! The 53 posters are in separate auctions, and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again!

Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right. There is a small tear at right in the woman's thumb. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the very rare poster will look great!
