He's a Count"; about a barber who is dating a beautiful young woman, but she decides she would rather dine with a rich Count then continue dating him, and later the rich Count goes to the barber for a beard trim, and the barber, in a fit of jealousy, cuts off half of the Count's beard!) starring Gus Pixley (in the title role as the Barber), Charles Murray, and Louise Orth NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only once before auctioned an example of this poster and that example sold for $339! One-sheet posters from before 1919 are generally incredibly rare. But ones from before 1915 are beyond rare. It seems that the very first "regular one-sheets" were made around 1914, although some from small studios have turned up from earlier years. Condition: good. There are stains scattered in the poster (see our image). The poster was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right. There is separation in one edge. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the slight discoloration can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
