A 1951 Realart Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #8 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Frankenstein, the classic 1931 James Whale Universal monster horror thriller ("The monster that terrorized the world!"; "The Man Who Made a Monster"; "Warning! The monster is loose!"; "Based upon the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Story"; "Adapted by John L. Balderston from the play by Peggy Webling"; the first of the Universal "Frankenstein" movies, and regarded as one of the finer movies of any genre, in large part due to the marvelous acting of Boris Karloff, and the marvelous direction of James Whale!) starring Colin Clive (as Dr. Herbert V. Frankenstein), Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Edward Van Sloan, Fredric Kerr, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye (extremely memorable as Fritz), and John Boles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. The card has paper tape on the back of each corner. There were pairs of staple holes, some pairs of tiny staple holes, and some faint smudges and stains around the edges. There are two faint partial diagonal creases in the lower right of the card, starting in the lower right border, and extending up into the legs of Dwight Frye (the lower one is a crease for 4" of it, and the rest of it and the entire other one are more "waves" than creases). There are a few faint scuffs in the image. Some amateur took some sort of transparent white paint and put some of it over some of the blank borders, but not over the writing at bottom. This is not very noticeable, and I would think any restorer could easily remove it, with or without then performing slight border restoration. Overall, the card displays really well just as it is!
