An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) King Solomon's Mines, the 1937 Robert Stevenson English Africa jungle adventure thriller ("Adapted from the famous Sir Rider Haggard novel"; "It's actually greater than 'Count of Monte Cristo'") starring Cedric Hardwicke, Anna Lee, Paul Robeson (legendary black African American actor, singer, and athlete, who became disenchanted with Hollywood and the U.S. over racism), Roland Young, and John Loder. Note that the great Paul Robeson does not appear on much of the advertising for this movie, no doubt due to the prejudices of the time, which is sad. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1937 movie posters from this Paul Robeson movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a one-sheet and a lobby card from this movie until we received this insert! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There is fine surface paper loss on the top fold and much of the top foldline had separation (someone put tape on the back of it). There is some tape on the back of the left and right ends of the middle fold. Other than the above, and some minor wear around the edges, the poster is in pretty nice condition. It can certainly be displayed just as it is, or it could be restored, but either way, this ultra rare poster will look fantastic on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
