'Ironpants' Goodwin, the toughest young General in the Army --and the girl who gave him a new wrinkle on love!"; "Congrats to them-- they're the stars who bring you the Warner picture that's a one-in-a-million happiness-maker just like the Warners' 'Mister Roberts'"; "Written by Ronald Kibbee and Allan Scott") starring Susan Hayward, Kirk Douglas ("This is the toughest General in the U.S. Army"), Paul Stewart, Jim Backus, John Cromwell, Roland Winters, and Arthur Gould-Porter. Note that this film was going to be titled "Melville Goodwin, USA", and star Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. However, Bogart's cancer prevented him from playing the role, and Bacall declined her part as well to be with Bogart. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great set reference still has a visible clapboard in the image that gives the details about the movie. The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the set was taken down. What is unusual with this set reference still is that it shows the lead actor, Kirk Douglas, on the tank turret set. Most times, set reference photos have no people in them. On rare occasions, actors from the movie would be captured within those photos, and sometimes it would be crew members, but in THIS rare occasion, one or more of the leading actors is shown! This still has "RETURN TO TECHNICAL OFFICE" stamped on the back. Also note that the movie is called "Melville Goodwin U.S.A." on the clapboard, which was the working title for this movie! Condition: very good to fine. There are a few tiny creases in the blank borders. Otherwise, the still is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
