An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Invisible Boy, the 1957 Herman Hoffman science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The science-monster who would destroy the world!"; "Horror grips the earth as robot runs amok!"; "Screen Play by Cyril Hume"; "Based On The Story By Edmund Cooper") starring Richard Eyer, Philip Abbott, Diane Brewster, Harold Stone, Robert H. Harris, and Robby the Robot (who was so memorable in "Forbidden Planet" the year before). Note that there are those who speculate that one of the main reasons Robby the Robot appears in this movie is because MGM had spent a LOT of money creating him for Forbidden Planet, and they wanted to recoup some of that money by casting him in another film! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Mort Kunstler Important Added Info: Note that this movie came out at the height of the "UFO" craze, and the studio sent a large paper snipe that reads "HOT FROM SATELLITE HEADLINES! Science in the skies!", which was intended to be glued over the top tagline area, in the hopes of gaining more viewers (printed on the back of the snipe in light letters is "SNIPE FOR 'THE INVISIBLE BOY' 3-SHEET Place over present caption across top of poster."). The theater that was sent this poster did not use the snipe, so it is loose with the poster, but it will be sent to the winner of this auction (it is not pictured). Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. The poster had 2" or so of separation at most crossfolds. Someone put some tape on the back of portions of the foldline that was on the outside when the poster was fully folded, and that tape has yellowed, but fortunately, it does not have much effect on the front. There are some creases and several tears along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on the other foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
