An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked South American Movie Poster (measures 22 1/2" x 31 1/2") (Learn More) Winning, the 1969 James Goldstone automobile Indy car racing sports action thriller ("Winning... is Everything!"; "Their love, like their world is ruthless, amoral and fascinating!"; about a race car driver who is so enveloped in his career that he might lose his wife to his rival) starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Robert Wagner, Richard Thomas, David Sheiner, Clu Gulager, Barry Ford, Bobby Unser, Tony Hulman, Dan Gurney, and Karen Arthur. Note that this movie was originally intended to be released with a "G" rating. But it had some pretty mature sex scenes, so it was revised to an "M" rating. But the posters had already been printed with a "G" rating, so the studio put snipes over the ones that had not been sent to theaters, and sent studio-issued snipes to the theaters that had already received the posters. Important Added Info: Note that this South American poster measures 22 1/2" x 31 1/2" and is linenbacked. Also note that we don't know what South American country this poster was printed in! It was NOT printed in Spain. If anyone knows the country of origin, please e-mail us and we will post it here. It is possible it was printed for use in all South American countries, which would explain why there is no country credited. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was folded twice horizontally and once vertically. There were creases and a few small tears along those foldlines. There were many pinholes and small tears around the edges of the poster.
