An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Personal Property (released in other English-speaking countries as "The Man in Possession"), the 1937 W.S. Van Dyke ("The Hit-Director of 'After the Thin Man' 'San Francisco' and others") romantic comedy ("At last they're together - and how!"; "Just because he's her handsome butler can she call him her 'Personal Property'"; "They're sweethearts now! And what thrills!"; about a broke American widow living in London, and a son of a formerly wealthy family is assigned to watch over her so that she can keep her house, and his brother meets her and begins romancing her, and each thinks the other is rich and the solution to their problems, but of course, she eventually falls for the handsome man who knows she is broke!) starring Jean Harlow, Robert Taylor ("in a happy huddle for the first time!"), Reginald Owen, Una O'Connor, Henrietta Crosman, E.E. Clive, Lionel Braham, and Marla Shelton. Note that this was a re-make of the 1931 film The Man in Possession, with Robert Montgomery and Charlotte Greenwood. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this card was used in another country (surely either England or Australia), and in that country, it was released with the alternate title, "The Man in Possession", but they had U.S. lobby cards with the original title, so they put brown paint over the entire original title area and then stenciled the new title in orange over that. This new paint is almost surely either impossible or next to impossible to remove through chemical means (because what would remove it would likely remove the ink under it as well), but that is not a guarantee. But definitely do not bid on this lobby card unless you can accept that this over-painting may not be removable and may need to be left as it is, or painted over. Condition: fair. The card had the alternate title stenciled over the original title in brown and orange paint (as I said above, it is possibly that it could only be painted over). There are many pinholes, smudges, and stains around the edges, and some smudges and dot stains scattered in the image. But definitely do not bid on this lobby card unless you can accept that this over-painting may not be removable and may need to be left as it is, or painted over. Learn More about condition grades
