She was a "sex kitten", and was as popular in France as Marilyn Monroe was in the U.S.! She is best known for her roles in And God Created Woman, Le Mepris, Masculin Feminin: 15 Faits Precis, La Verite, and Viva Maria! In the 1970s, she retired and has not made a movie since, but she is very active in animal rights causes and charities. As of 2024, she is still alive at the age of 88!
