Cooper was a producer, writer, director and actor from the 1920s to the 1960s and is best known for his work with the original King Kong (which he developed and produced), Little Women, The Fugitive, Fort Apache, and The Searchers. He passed away in 1973 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Merian C. Cooper! Someone took a 4 1/2" x 6" page from an autograph album and matted it so that only the signature shows, and added in a nice 8" x 10" REPRO showing Cooper looking at Kong and the dinosaurs. This item was purchased by our consignor in a large collection of movie memorabilia, and we believe the signature to surely be authentic. Condition: very good. The page from the autograph book has a date of 10-15-54 on the part that doesn't show through the mat, which indicates it was signed on that date. The top mat is hinged and it can be lifted up so that you can see the entire album page underneath it. Learn More about condition grades
