An Original Vintage Autographed 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm] Fan Photo (Learn More) Alan Ladd was a major leading actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Surprisingly, he appeared in a number of movies before he became a major star with his portrayal as a hired killer in "This Gun For Hire" in 1941. Some of his movies include: Shane, The Carpetbaggers, The Glass Key, The Blue Dahlia, and Two Years Before the Mast. He married much older Sue Carol, who had been a major actress in the 1920s and early 1930s, and who had become an agent. They remained married until he passed away in 1964 at the age of 50 from a drug and alcohol overdose. Important Added Info: Note that this fan photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Alan Ladd! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer in 2003. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
