An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Woolever Press Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 17 3/4" [36 x 45 cm]) (Learn More) White Zombie, the 1932 Victor Halperin Haitian undead voodoo zombie monster horror thriller ("She was not alive... Nor dead... Just a White Zombie performing his every desire"; "They knew this fiend was practicing zombiism on the natives, but when he tried it on a white girl the nation revolted") starring Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela [Dracula] Lugosi"; as "Murder" Legendre), Madge Bellamy, Joseph Cawthorn, Robert Frazer, and John Harron NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was created by "Woolever Press" of Los Angeles, California. Woolever Press created one-sheets and window cards for movies that were distributed to theaters who (for one reason or another) had difficulty obtaining studio issue paper. Woolever Press posters were created during a movie's first release. This is similar to the posters created by "the other company", as an alternate to studio issue posters. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 17 3/4" [36 x 45 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. The poster had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off; there is small paper loss in the left corners; there is brown staining down the entire left side of the poster (it is mostly in the border, but in the bottom of the left side, it extends into the "WHI" of "WHITE"). There is similar brown staining (although lighter) down the right side of the poster, with a dark brown stain near the bottom of the right border. There are faint brown stains across the bottom border. There is a pinhole in each of the top corners and some creases and smudges around the edges of the card. There are smudges and a few tiny nicks around the edges of the card. Obviously, this card is far from perfect, but most of its defects are around the edges, and could be greatly improved with simple restoration by a talented restorer. There are virtually NO original studio issue posters or lobby cards from this movie, so this window card is probably the best chance for the vast majority of collectors to own an original release poster from this early horror classic!
