The Boost, the 1988 Harold Becker romantic drug addiction melodrama (about a rich couple who goes broke and who then become addicted to cocaine; "Based on book 'Ludes' by Benjamin Stein") starring James Woods, Sean Young, John Daly, Derek Gibson, Steven Hill, Kelle Kerr, and John Rothman. Note that writer Benjamin Stein is the same sometime actor, sometime game show host, and sometime commentator, perhaps best remembered from his TV game show "Win Ben Stein's Money".
