An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (measures 33 3/4" x 47" [86 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) Das schwarze Schaf (literally translates to "The Black Sheep"), the 1944 Miroslav Cikan (billed as "Freidrich Zittau") German romantic inheritance melodrama (about a woman about to inherit a publishing house, but she discovers a long-lost black sheep co-heir, and she hires a detective and locates him, intending to buy out his share, but she falls for him!) starring Lotte Koch, Wilma Tatzel, Helmi Mareich, Waldemar Leitgeb, Ernst von Klipstein (billed as "Ernst v. Klipstein"), Victor Janson, Werner Pledath, and Wilhelm Konig (billed as "W.H. Konig"). It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned this poster (which is a "country of origin" poster for this German movie!). It was printed in Germany during World War II. There are very few German movie posters from during World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. It is likely that German posters from during the Nazi era are even more rare than those from before that era, because most of those that survived the war would have been destroyed right after the war! Condition: good. The poster was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right and there is wear on all the folds. There are pinholes and tears in the borders with a tear in the top left blank corner. There are stains on the back of the top right of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
