eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5d067 SCREEN SECRETS magazine June 1930 wonderful art of beautiful Greta Garbo by Henry Clive! Date Sold 8/15/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Screen Secrets, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many sepia and black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, some in sepia and some in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Note that in the early days of this magazine, it was originally called "Paris and Hollywood Screen Secrets Magazine", but the "Paris and Hollywood" portion of the title grew smaller and smaller, and in May 1928, it was dropped altogether! In July of 1929, they added "The Voice of Sound Pictures" as a tagline under the title on the cover, but that was dropped at some point in 1930. In April of 1930, the title changed yet again from "Screen Secrets" to "Screen Play Secrets"! Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, a picture of an interior page (usually the table of contents page, if there is one), and a picture of one interior two-page spread (but we didn't make much effort to find the best one!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good. There are tape stains in the top and bottom of the spine. The word "Speaks" was printed below Garbo's name on the cover and someone marked over it somewhat. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
