Original Vintage Lobby Card (Measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Mickey, the 1918 F. Richard Jones & James Young silent western inheritance comedy ("[Mickey is] Funnier than Charlie Chaplin, more sensational then 'The Birth of a Nation', as spectacular as 'Intolerance', a greater love story than 'Hearts of the World', with the adventure of the 'Arabian Nights'"; produced by Mack Sennett; about an orphan whose father leaves her a mine, and she is sent to relatives who think she's rich, but when they find out the mine is worthless, they treat her terribly, but ultimately, the mine proves to be very valuable, and the girl triumphs) starring Mabel Normand (in her first full-length feature; in the title role as Mickey; "She is coming! The lass you'll never forget"; "The girl of a million moods and expressions"), George Nichols, Wheeler Oakman, Minta Durfee, Laura La Varnie, and Lew Cody. Note that Normand and Cody became friends during the filming of the movie, and stayed friends even though they never made another movie together, and in 1926, they were married! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a hand-colored card. In the days of silent film prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the cards one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each card is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match. Condition: very good. There are pinholes in the borders (some in the borders of the image) and minor creasing in the borders. Learn More about condition grades
